This is a brief report of our 2nd Summer Go camp.
It was held between 16th and 26th August in Maramures, a northern region of
Romania, surrounded by a lot of green and fresh air.
The schedule was quite busy, we visited some of the local famous places, did
some cart riding, hiking, played a lot, had group lessons as well as
simultaneous or tournament games. Catalin Taranu 5p was teaching first 2
days and a good friend of mine, Kitano Ryo 7p from Japan was there for the
last 2 days, sharing their long Go experience with us. I had prepared for
this year some middle game lessons, attacking and defending techniques. All
the lessons were recorded on mini-dv tapes then transferred to DVD, so each
of us got a copy at the end. I will try to make them available to everybody
to download, although they are big files.
The weather was merciful with us, we only had a few showers first week and
last 2 days bigger rain, but no flooding. The river in front of the house
was never a danger, it only provided a nice background music, in perfect
harmony with the game...
I'll be trying to organize a joint summer camp for next year, at the same
location, with Cornel Burzo and some of his students. Please let me know if
